Failure is self-imposed end result. Abandoning a mission tantamount to being weak minded lacking belief in one’s goal. Provision of rural healthcare is goal I will never abandon. Many mocked project Manding Medical Centre at Njawara in the Lower Badibou, NBR, Gambia, West Africa; as case of a White Elephant and an illusion by a mad man. At times my thought or feet wobble under me but never gave up on me. Sometimes when faced with dark challenge or difficult times it makes me want to work harder to fulfil my dream to bring beneficial healthcare delivery to neglected rural Gambia. My path was deflected briefly by a dictatorial regime and endless immigration bureaucratic foot dragging and bungling. No, hell is not the worst of pains but life marred by unpredictable scenarios and bombardments by heinous acts is indeed worse than hell can and would metre out. Hell is said to be permanent fixture of pain inflicted upon the souls of the dead that had lived in bad ways. Some experiences are heresy of life worse than banishment. With the later one could take a new life and reinvent oneself to recuperate. But when life is shrouded in naggings, distrust, shallowness and undesirable attitudes it declines to unbearable levels worse than being in hell. Nothing is more humiliating than being deprived of freedom of choice, proper healthcare services, good schools, shelter and safe drinking water along with worthy infrastructure for use of the citizenry. I write to raise funds for building Njawara hospital.
