The sojourn started some sixty six years ago when I met a family heading to Kerewan Health Centre seeking medical aid. The sight of a writhing, sweating and feverish five year boy carried by a heart broken father; in addition to his weak full term pregnant wife dripping greenish smelly fluid swamped by flies struck a chord of commitment in me to be part of the solution to Gambia’s rural health delivery. My previous works highlight the path I took since 1967 to become a Medical Doctor and eventual setting up of NGO Manding Medical Centre at Njawara, Lower Badibou District, North Bank of the Gambia. This village self-help healthcare delivery in the North Bank of the Gambia has treated more than 9000 villagers free of charge since it inception in 1993. Never quit is work portraying continued effort to rejuvenate good work that was stifled by the dictatorial regime during the past twenty years. It is about being a positive contributing member of society no matter where you may find yourself. I qrite to raise funds for building Njawara hospital.
